McDonald’s Is Serving Up Nostalgia with the return of Chicken Strips
Everyone, you heard that right! McDonald's is coming back with their Chicken strips. And they will be available nationwide by May 5th. It has been around 10 years since this fan favorite has been available for purchase on the menu, and it has been announced that it will stay as a permanent menu item. It is the first time since 2021 that they have announced a menu item to be permanent. So this can be deemed as a big deal. These Chicken strips are also being paired with a Creamy chili sauce, which is a brand new menu item that is sure to become a fan favorite too!

The main reason for the return of this nostalgic item was
the voice of the people. There was so much customer demand for this to be put
back on the regular McDonald's menu that McDonald’s listened. This is great
news for the future because it shows that the people have some control over
what their menu options could be. Is there
something that you are missing, something that you would like to see added to
the menu? Let your voice be heard.
Keeping up with the trends
These Chicken strips are made with 100% white meat chicken
breast, which I know is a big surprise to some of you. Alyssa Buetikofer,
McDonald’s chief marketing and customer experience officer, says that customer
demand for chicken strips has been “remarkable to see”(“Fast Food Trends for 2025: Where You’ll Find the Biggest Deals”). They are rumored and
known for having a fake meat reputation. I think that a reason for their transparency is that one of the main trends in America
is the health food/whole foods trend. They are not specifically healthy, but
they are a better option than what they used to be and how it has changed over
the long years. This may come too a shock to some and may cause more people to
come out to try the chicken strips.
Customer Demand
The amazing thing about this whole situation is that the reason they are bringing in the menu items is due to the customer demand for them. Active customers have started making online petitions to bring this item back to stores for purchase. This was great for the McDonald's corporation because it brought awareness to an item that they didn’t realize they were missing out on because it is no longer a menu item. It also gives McDonald's good publicity and might attract old and new customers who have missed or are excited to try this menu item for the first time. The question I have for you is, would you sign a petition in the future for the return of a menu item at any other fast food restaurant now that you know there is a huge possibility of it coming back?
