Chick-Fil-A Going Global?

You have heard that right, Chick-fil-A has a plan to expand its locations globally!

For some background, the fast-food chain Chick-fil-A was founded and created in Atlanta, Georgia, by Samuel Truett Cathy. The first restaurant was opened in 1967, and currently, Chick-fil-A has more than 3,000 restaurants in 48 states. They are known to be closed on Sundays, and for their great customer service and their "original chicken sandwich".

All about the money

Chick-fil-A has made plans to try and expand outside of the United States and into Asia and the European region. They have over 1 billion dollars to expand their locations. These efforts should help them expand their business and bring in more revenue. Other than global growth, they are also putting in effort to grow domestically. An example of this is that they opened their first location on the Hawaiian island of Oahu in October of 2023.

Expansion

"According to the WSJ, plans call for restaurants opening in each region by 2026 and in at least five new markets by 2030"(Williams). Because they have more than 16 billion in revenue/sales in 2022 alone. They have more than enough to expand their restaurants. When looking at their website, it shows that they are planning on opening not only 1 but 5 locations in the UK by 2025 and directly investing 100 million USD over the next 10 years. As for the Asia expansion, they are looking to open a restaurant in Singapore by late 2025, beginning a 10-year, 75 million USD investment (“Is Chick-fil-A International?”).

Big Mac, Bigger Price: Fast Food’s Affordability Crisis Some major Fast-Food price increases are currently taking place. This is causing a ton of press. The question is will the rise of prices cause a shit in the customers’ ability to go and afford it? Fast food is known for its cheap and quick meal options. This might change the way we think of fast food. Prices Image from Financebuzz.com This is a major issue with some of the fast-food restaurants that are currently in business. I remember being able to go to a fast-food restaurant and being able to purchase a full meal at most places for under 6 dollars. This is not the case anymore. Some meals can run you upwards of 13 dollars a pop. An article from today.com says that “McDonald's raised prices so much that their average menu prices increased more than  three times  the national rate of inflation”(Koebert). It also says that a Big Mac combo meal now costs 8 dollars causing them to receive some negative backlash. Thi...
